Hello everyone. I'm an International Medical Graduate aiming to get into a foundation programme in the UK, and they require a writing Band of at least 7.5. Please do take a look at this piece of writing and give me your feedback. Much appreciated.
I've tried to incorporate Ryan's ideas into my pieces. Thank you so much in advance

When a country develops its technology, the traditional skills and ways of life die out. It is pointless to
try and keep them alive.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Owing to the rapid advancement of science and technology, we are now enjoying a golden period of
growth and development. Machines these days are omnipotent and have gone on to replace human
beings in many aspects, leading to the decline of traditional skills and customs. I strongly disagree with
the view that it is pointless to keep these traditions alive and this will be illustrated by analyzing the
effects of technology on our economy and family lives.
Modern technology has had a negative impact on a country's traditional economy with respect to job
availability. For instance, the introduction of machines and large vehicles in the sphere of farming has
undoubtedly made the life of an Indian agriculturist easier but it has simultaneously resulted in the loss
of employment for thousands of farmers. It is glaringly obvious from this example that technology is
leading to a decline in traditional skills and livelihood.
Electronic gadgets and their misuse has led to the undermining of family interaction at home especially
by the younger generation. Take the simple age-old example of a family dinner. With the introduction
of hand-held video devices, laptops and gaming consoles it is observed that children would much rather
take their food to their rooms and engage in their virtual fantasies than actually be seated together at the
dinner table. This clearly demonstrates how the advent of technology has contributed to the slow
demise of family tradition.
To sum up, modern technology has had adverse effects on family customs and the availability of
unskilled jobs in a country. Therefore it is of utmost importance that we keep these traditions alive
although it is predicted that they will eventually lose the battle against the uprisings of a mechanical
world such as ours.
