Many offenders commit more crimes after serving the first punishment. Why is this happening, and what measures can be taken to tackle this problem?

It is a fact that many criminals reoffend after being released from prisons. The main and most likely reason can be they may get habit of committing a crime if they have done it for once. In consequence, those prisoners can be more dangerous for the community and ruin people’s peaceful life after exemption. There are several possible measures that related bodies can take in order to prevent recommitting a crime tendency.

First of all, governments can combat with this serious matter by imposing severe punishment standards. For example, if an offender repeats any crime, they might be punished with the life sentence or capital punishment. By applying such legislation system convicts would be threatened and thus avoided to reoffend. In this case, penalties and prisons would act as a deterrent.

Second useful tool to cope with this problem might be educating criminals in jails. In other words, once an individual have committed a crime and locked away, they should be taught about harms of crime, and should be motivated to become a more decent citizen for the community. This way of solution may have twofold positive effect: one can be preventing crimes, another one may be turning those murderers into well-educated person and this would be more useful for society.

Another way might be providing psychological courses for criminals. For instance, if they are explained their faults, its reasons and how can they find an option so that not to offend, it may produce positive outcomes. This should be carried out by special trained professionals in psychology, who can be tolerant dealing with such dangerous members of society.

To sum up, I would like to stress that if above-mentioned ways of solution are implemented, the authorities can diminish crime rate to a reasonable level and the community would also benefit from this legal system.
