Government and creative artists

Creative artists should always be given the freedom to express their own ideas (in words, pictures, music, film) in whichever way they wish. There should be no public or government restrictions on what they do.To what extend do you agree or disagree ?
Given the fact, freedom in every aspect of our lives is a basic human right in the modern, democratic world we live in, its restriction could lead to detrimental consequences. Moreover, in historical aspect, art and creativity were “the engines” of our cultural, economical and social evolution during the years. With that being said, it is agreed that neither governments, nor society should have the right to restrict the verbal and the visual creativity of the artist, because that will mean the end of our development in the foreseeable future. Furthermore, I strongly believe that creativity should be supported and encouraged in every possible way.
Firstly, expression of creativity correlates with the freedom of speech, which is an essential right of every individual. Imagine how the world would look like if the free expression trough words, songs, etc. was prohibited in the past. Nowadays, we would not be able to have any information about our ancestors , how they have lived and thought, and how their actions had led to terrific historical catastrophes such as the World Wars, the holocaust, etc. So as a consequence we wouldn’t know where we came from, who we are , and how to prevent major global conflicts. Allowing the freedom of speech and creativity will provide our off-springs knowledge about their roots, culture and the possibility to learn from our mistakes.
Secondly, famous artist from the past are proven to be the reason for the development of many nations such as France and Italy. The work of people like Van Gogh, Da Vinci and Picasso remained unappreciated back then, which doomed those individuals to death in poverty and misery. Decades later their talent was finally indicated as a contribution with a huge value for our culture and self-awareness, winning the appreciation of millions of people all around the world. Restricting nowadays artist from contributing to the society will not only mean that we will repeat the same mistake by destine creative geniuses to perish, but we will build unbreakable boundaries, which affect our growth, development and future success as a global community.
In conclusion, it evident from our history that restriction of talent, free expression and art, could be considered a big mistake and a crime to the society, which should not be repeated. In my opinion creative artists all around the world should be supported and their affords should be appreciated.
