In some countries, there are people earning a lot of money. While there are those who claim this is positive for the country, there are also those who advocate the opposite, stating that governments ought to limit salaries to a certain level. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Economists agree that modern societies have been developed due to invention of a tax paying in order to collect common resources of the money in order to achieve a mutual plan for the desired development. A participation in collecting money and its destribution has became one of the most important issues in every's government policy, especially regarding people earning a lot of money. Some believe that receiving a high salary is beneficial for the country while others refute this and are of opinion that there should be a certain maximum for the paychecks. These points of view concerning benefits of limit of salaries will be discussed in that order before a reasoned conclusion is drawn.
It is common today at the Univerisity of X that a lot of professors are having one or two additional jobs or positions in a committee and receive a salary for each of these. However, there is a reasonable doubt in the quality and effectiveness of one's work when having a significant number of tasks. This can be prevented by limiting salaries in order to put individual in the situation of choosing only the most suitable career in which he will be highly effective with positive repercussions for his community . Thus, the theory of limiting salaries is difficult to debunk.
On the other hand, many argue that particular employee who possesses exceptional ability and achieves the best results in his area of work should be the one awarded with limitless salary according to one's level of education, number of working hours, night shifts and overtime and responsibility of the job position. Take team of doctors at the Transplantation Centre of the University Hospital 'Y' in Z, for instance. An availability of donor's organ is unpredictable and there is a necessity of team's call-on shifts same as their tremendous theoretical and practical knowledge in order to perform a successful transplantation. It goes without saying that this hardworking and highly skilled team deserves a fair salary according to all important factors mentioned above. This example clearly illustrates how idea of limiting salaries is unfair and such approach would have as a consequence a situation in the society where it would be pointless to work more or to achieve an excellent result.
The above discussion puts forth several convincing arguments for both sides of this debate regarding the matter of limiting salaries and potential repercussions on a society in general. Nevertheless, I believe that salaries should not be limited in favour of creating a positive environment for employees to pursuit their maximum and to be appropriately awarded. It is therefore hoped that governments everywhere take it upon themselves to arrange this sort of ecomomical policy practice.
