Road to IELTS vs real IELTS exam

Hi, I would like to ask everyone who knows what's the difference between "Road to IELTS" (course offered by British Council) and real IELTS exam in terms of difficulty level ? I've been preparing for IELTS for 3 months, most of time I spent on studying general English in order to improve my skills, but also I've practiced with Cambridge IELTS (1-8). I started at level of 18/40 points in listening section and ended up at 34-36/40 so I thought it seems nice. Now, 13 days left to my exam and I tried "Road to IELTS - last minute" which I found much more difficult (even though the quality of recording is better there) than Cambridge IELTS practice tests books Does anyone know, if the real IELTS resembles Cambridge books or it's rather like Road to IELTS course ? I will appreciate any help... cheers
