Many poeple think that television is a good thing because it gives people enjoyment and keeps them informed. To what extent do you agree or disagree with the statement.

Nowadays, technology has inevitably penetrated into our lifestyles. This can be seen from excessive reliance on electronic equipment such as television in our daily routines. It is believed that television is beneficial for people because it provides entertainment and helps in staying updated globally. However, this opinion is refuted as television has brought with itself numerous drawbacks. This will be shown by taking into account the reasons due to which television is regarded as a harmful technology.
On the one hand, television has proved to be a source of entertainment for many, it has significantly contributed in making people lethargic on the other. Cricket for instance, is a kind of sports which is watched actively around the globe. This kind of entertainment has made people sluggish and less inclined to play physically in their neighborhood. From this, it can be deduced that most of the enjoyment on television has made passive in social attributes.
Additionally, television has been playing a vital role in keeping the audience informed. However, it is essential to validate these provided facts and not to completely rely without authentication. To exemplify, news channels these days have started exploiting the image of different countries at the cost of their channel ratings. This example reveals that details are spread among viewers for personal benefits instead of creating awareness. It thus signifies the fact that viewers are being fooled by the false tales presented on television.
After analyzing the arguments, it clearly signified that television is not completely beneficial for people. It may produce harmful effects on our lifestyles if not carefully used. It is also expected that the inexorable reliance on television will make it the only source for providing entertainment and education.
