Listening. T vs D spelling.

hallo everyone,
I am preparing for IELTS right now.
When I am working on Listening Section, I came across with a question when the speaker spelling a name of a street to another people.
I realize it is hard to differentiate T and D.
I was guessing at that time.
could you gave me some tips how to deal with type of question?
