please assess my essay

Post by Faust1994 »

Topic: Universities should accept equal numbers of male and female students in every subject
To what extend do you agree or disagree
My essay: The distribution of male and female students for each discipline can sometimes be frustrating to universities. Most people say equal number of boys and girls may damage their academic performance as they learn in different ways and have different needs. As far as I'm concerned, " men and women together make work easier ".
It is unreasonable to conclude that unbalanced number has no good at all. For example, according to a report by the University of Harvard, girls can also overachieve on Mathematics without interruptions from boys. This is because boys tend to be active, preventing girls from hand-up. However, this biased method will not last long as students may become prejudiced, which is not good for mentality.
Admittedly, a mixed-sex environment where males and females share similar number is more representative of the real life. As a matter of fact, girls may also have novel ideas for a scientific research, while boys are likely to do well in arts. In this atmosphere, both boys and girls have the opportunity to learn from each other and know the differences between male and female, developing necessary networking skills.
Therefore, I do believe it's advisable for universities to admit the same numbers of male and female students for all the subjects, for the sake of round-about development.
