The bar chart illustrates the gender distribution of students studying science-related subjects at a UK university in 2009.
To begin with, the number of men studying Biology was the highest in 2009, accounting for approximately 235. In contrast, women who studied the same subject made up nearly 200, which was lower than men. Similarly, the number of students who are men (almost 200) studying subject in Medicine was slightly higher than women (just under 200).
On the other hands, the gaps of the figure of women and men studying in Physics, Astronomy and Geology was significantly bigger comparatively. In Physics, the gap was the biggest . The subject which is Geology was studied by approximately 175 of students who are women. The number of men was nearly twice as many men as women who studied Geology.There is important subject, which is veterinary medicine. In this subject, the number of women studying it was slightly higher than men, with just over 100
In conclusion, the subjects science-related at a UK university in 2009 were studied by more men than women except for Veterinary medicine
