Hello Everybody!
Hello Ryan!
My name is Nguyen Vu Lam, "Lam" for short.

I am from Vietnam, exactly on site of the Gulf of Thailand where the Malaysian aeroplane vanished.

My ielts score is 6.0, and that is my threshold, I have been taking many exams with no improvement.

I am holding a conditional offer letter of University of East Anglia, UK to be a research student in computing science.

Fortunately, I met by chance Ryan's video on Youtobe, then joined this network. Hopefully, every can understand my "Vietnamese English", I do not have the English environment, so I may use some kind of English language that people used to speak in the 17th century, :-).

happy to have new friends,
thank you!

Hi Nguyen,

It's a pleasure to meet you. Thank you for joining us here. Congratulations on the uni offer!

You've mentioned that your current band is 6. What is your goal?

I hope these boards prove helpful.

Ryan

Thank You Dryan for your reply!
My aim is 6.5, overall, with no band score less than 6.0. However, 0.5 seem to be a big jump for me.

From this corner of the world, your web sites are valuable for me. I have been visiting ieltsielts.com every day for your tutors,

Thank you!

Hi Lam,

Welcome to the forum. Can you tell a bit more about how may times you have taken the test, and the score you got for each band?

If you don't have any one to practice your English with, this is a good place. There are also many Facebook groups where you can participate and find a study partner. Which part of Vietnam are you from? Are you taking any class or you are a self-study student? If you are from Hanoi, I can definitely recommend few good places, depending on your budget :)

Cheers,
Chi

Thank you very much Chi!

I am studying by myself currently.

Could you tell me the centre name, I will think of that after some more tests.

It takes me 2 hours to HaNoi, unfortunately by airplane, :-)

It's nice to have your message.
thank you!

Lam,

Any places I know would become too costly after the air plane tickets. I think the online resource alone is more than enough if you really want to study.

thank you Chi!

I used to be in HaNoi for 1 month, practicing for ielts with British Council (Thuy Khe),
another month with the same centre in HCM city. But it seem to be not enough.

Thank you for your advice!
