Some people believe that they should keep all the money they have earned and should not pay tax to the state.
Do you agree or disagree with the above notion?
In many countries worldwide, governments obligue their people to spend a portion of their salary as a tax to the country. While some people contend that they should only spend their earning on themselves, I believe that paying taxes is mandatory for any nation's development.
On one hand, people who believe that they shouldn't pay a penny to their country, state that it is their rights to use their hard earning money on themselves . The reason is that the money barely satisfies their essential needs, and even if there is extra money, they need to save and reserve it for emergencies, unemployment or illness. The advocates of this point of view assume that it is the government's own responsibility to raise money from any other sector to develop the country.
On the other hand, I am of the opinion that people should pay taxes to their states for several reasons. Firstly, the benefit of tax payment returns to them sooner or later as the money gained through these taxes are used by the government to enhance many facilities for their people, such as improving healthcare services and public transport. Secondly, many countries use a part of the income tax as retirement funds, so that all retired employees could earn monthly salary helping them to survive despite any current economic situation. Lastly, the taxes delivered to the state is spent on the development of the nations. This can be achieved by upgrading the quality of education, as well as funding military services.
To conclude, it is debatable nowadays whether taxes must be paid to the government. Although it is asserted by some people that they should save all their income for themselves, I believe that people especially high-income employees must contribute to their nation's development by paying the income taxes.
