SOME PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT UNPAID COMMUNITY SERVICES SHOULD BE PART OF HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMMES (FOR EXAMPLE WORKING FOR A CHARITY,IMPROVING THE NEIGHBOURHOOD OR TEACHING SPORTS TO YOUNGER CHILDREN.
TO WHAT EXTENT DO YOU AGREE OR DISAGREE
There is a new idea that unpaid community services like working in the charity organization should be a compulsory part of high school curriculum. This essay will outline the importance of having this idea.
Firstly, engaging youths in unpaid community services will help them learn how to offer selfless service not just to the community but to friends and family. They will learn to offer a helping hand to friends and strangers alike in future. For example, a youth who engages in cleaning of the neighborhood will learn to do so even when he is older and not waiting until government or paid cleaners does so for him. This will help the individual to learn that keeping the environment clean is not just the work of government or paid cleaners but individual effort.
Secondly, engaging youths to do unpaid services will help boost that individuals curriculum vitae and increase his work experience. Thus preparing him for the labor market which sooner or later he will be facing when he graduates from the high school.
Lastly, instead of sitting at home and doing nothing at free times, engaging in these services will help curtail all the extra time youths engage in playing video games, watching the television and engaging in social vices like smoking and drinking.
Looking at the above point of view, engaging in unpaid services is a welcome development as it gives the youth better moral training, boost their workability status and also reduce social vices experienced in the world today.This should be part of high school programme
