We can clearly see from the pie chart how the percentage of budgets used on restaurant cuisines increased steadily from 1970 to 2000. The line graph demonstrated the steady and significant rise in the number of eaten meals in sit-down and fastfood chains respectively.
The pie chart shows that the average family forked out more money on meals cooked at home during the 1970s since they used 90% of their budget on it and only 10% was used to buy foods at restaurants. This percentage increased gradually to 50% in the next three decades as households spent equal amounts of currency on foods concocted at restaurants and at homes in 2000.
The graph demonstrates that in 1970, almost 20 meals were eaten in both quick service and sitdown restaurants within a year. This value grew gradually in both types of restaurants with the latter slightly ahead until about 1983, when the count of fastfoods consumed surged to 90 meals per annum in 2000 and the sitdown restaurants at approximately 50 meals.
