Students should focus on learning in the classroom rather than show their status by wearing fashionable clothes. Therefore all students should wear school uniform.
Do you agree or disagree

The college is an institution set aside for studying and learning and also where laws should be obeyed. There have been an increased call to scrap school uniform in schools and allow students wear casual wears for lectures. Personally, I think that the old tradition of wearing school uniform should be maintained against the wish of wearing other clothing to schools.

For the sake of having sanity in the classroom, wearing the traditional school uniform will help the student and teachers face the reason why they have come to school .In institutions like the university where students are allowed to dress anyhow they like to school. There have been problems with indecent dressing, such that it distracts people during the course of learning. This can disrupt the learning process as the teacher might be busy trying to caution the student about his outfit while the student tries to get back his wandered thoughts into what is been taught.

Furthermore, because dressing to kill can be expensive, the student might be tempted to spend all the money meant for his tuition on dressing rather than investing it on appropriate things. In addition to this more pressure could be put on caregivers or parents to get funds for buying clothes for their children. This is so unnecessary. The parents have other areas to channel resources to rather than spending on clothes

All in all, the idea of wearing fashionable clothes to school can lead to indecent dressing by students and put pressure on parents financially to provide money to buy clothings. However this view might be criticized by other people but in my own opinion is something to worry about. We should state our priorities right, dressing very good and learning nothing in school versus dressing in the uniform and producing the best students ever

Hello!

I'm not sure about the word 'sanity' ... but you might be right in some situations!

I think that you should include something about why some people might not want to make uniforms compulsory.

Very good vocabulary and grammar.

One final point for anyone reading this who wishes to improve their IELTS writing skills. Note that short sentences can be very effective in communicating ideas - "This is so unnecessary." Candidates often believe that they should make their sentences as long as possible to get higher scores. Not true! Use your grammar to communicate clearly ... and if that means using short simple structures, go ahead!

Overall, a good essay which could be made into a very good one easily.

All the best,
David

Is the student ignoring the teacher? Do you mean a different student has wandering thoughts?)
