IELTS Task1 [Your friend has offered to sell you something] Thanks for your help

Post by JamalOZ »

Your friend has offered to sell you something. Write a letter to this friend. In your letter include:
-what the item is
-questions requesting details of the item being sold
-what price you think is fair

Dear John,

I hope you’re doing fine and thank you for your offer.

Your offer comes at a perfect timing as I’ve been looking for a new camera for several weeks now. I was looking for a Canon EOS 7D with a 18-50mm lens which corresponds exactly to the one you’re selling. You told me that you will provide a charger and a European adapter which is really great.

However, I have few question regarding some technical details. Does it comes with a bag? Can I use a Nikon lens with the camera? Do you provide any post-treatment software with it? And what about taking pictures at night?

I really like this brand and would like to buy it. I had a look online and found that a new one will cost me $2000 for the camera alone. I would offer $1500 as it has been barely used. I would also like to ask you for a combined price for the camera and all the accessories described above.

I can’t wait to hear from you.

With love,
Peter

Hello!

Overall, a good letter. Just a couple of points ...
1. Does it come with a bag? Is that a technical question?
2. More importantly, the tone of the letter is not always that which would be used with a friend.
There are some grammar mistakes, but everything is clear. Vocabulary is good - you correctly took the opportunity to include some camera-related items.

All the best,
David
