WRITING TASK 1

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.

You borrowed some books from your school or college library. Unfortunately you have to
go away to visit a sick relative and cannot return the books in time.

Write a letter to the library. Explain what has happened and tell them what you want to do
about it.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing this letter upon a circumstance of that I could not return books in time.

Yesterday night, my aunt had a serious heart attack and because of I am living in her flat, I am the nearest one from family to care her. The doctor stated that within the week she had to stay in the hospital and I can not leave her alone.

In this case, I suppose that I will be demanded paying fine by the library headquarter for delayed restore. May I kindly ask, by considering my honest and consistent membership in the past, whether you would disclaim my penalty ? I believe that, you will estimate my occasion justly. I will hand over the books as soon as possible. Thank you very much for your concern to this issue.

Sincerely,

Name...

Hello!

Vocabulary and grammar are weak (within the week, I will be demanded, delayed restore, consistent membership, disclaim my penalty, estimate my occasion justly, concern to this issue).

I haven't counted the number of words, but it looks under 150.

All the best,
David
