The bar graphs illustrate computer ownership by the percentage of people for every 2 years from 2002 to 2010, and by five levels of education (no high school diploma, high school graduate, college (incomplete), Bachelor’s degree, postgraduate qualification) in 2002 and 2010. Overall, the percentage of people who had a computer increased from 2002 to 2010. The same tendency is observed in all educational levels.
With regards to the percentage of population possessing a computer, it gradually increased by around 5% for every 2 years from 2002. Initially, 50% of people had a computer in 2002, and this indicator reached about 75% in 2010. Likewise, computer ownership increased in every educational category between 2002 and 2010. The highest change was recorded in the lowest educational group where the computer ownership increased by 25%. People with postgraduate qualification experienced the smallest change of 15%.
Furthermore, as the educational level was higher more people possessed a computer. In 2002, mere 15 percent of people with no high school diploma had a computer compared to 70% of people with postgraduate qualifications. In 2010, only 65% of high school graduates had a computer whereas people with incomplete college education and Bachelors’ degree accounted correspondingly 85% and 90%.
